This project was developed to improve an existing production workflow used for delivering broadcast compliant commercials to TV stations. Each commercial required multiple export formats, often with strict specifications and naming conventions, which made the process repetitive and time-consuming when done manually. We were also encountering issues caused by human error during the manual export process.
The goal was to reduce the time spent on exports while ensuring consistency across all required deliverables.
Approach
I developed a scripting solution using Adobe ExtendScript to automate the export process. The script handles multiple output formats in a single run, applying predefined settings for each required deliverable.
Instead of manually exporting each version, the system batches the process, ensuring that all outputs are generated consistently and with the correct configuration.
It standardises naming conventions, output formats, and export settings, reducing the chance of human error and removing repetitive steps from the process.
This turns what was previously a manual, multi-step task into a single automated operation. In a production environment where turnaround times matter, this has a direct impact on efficiency and output quality.
